French wines, Champagnes and Dessert Wines: Our unique collection of hard-to-find and highly allocated French wines, Champagnes and Dessert Wines, represent the very best of the premier winemakers of France. As collectors and wine merchants, we continually seek special limited production wines and rare collectibles, not only to expand our professional knowledge and the enjoyment of French wine, but more importantly, to share with you directly and allow your collections to build and grow. All thanks to our hard-working family of small importers and distributors, who have dedicated working relationships with these listed regional wine producers. From the unequaled 1999 Château Margaux and Château d’Yquem 1998, to the devastating perfection of Domaine Denis Mugneret’s 1999 Richebourg Grand Cru or the indescribable beauty of Salon 1990, there is a rare and special French wine for any collection, occasion or budget. We hope the following notes will be of interest to you, and inspire the acquisition a few of these rare and historic wines of France.

Bourgogne Blanc - White Burgundy: Highly sought are the Domaines of Comtes Lafon, Ravenaux and Verget. Note that 1999 is an exceptional year in Burgundy for white wines. The dedicated and inventive producer and winemaker, Jean-Marie Guffens of Domine Verget, is known in France as “Mr. Chardonnay”.

Bourgogne Rouge - Red Burgundy All our listed Grand Cru selections are difficult to come by. 1999 was also a banner year for Pinot Noir.

Champagne: Difficult to obtain are the vintage prestige cuvees of Dampierre, Egly-Ouriet and Salon, all boutique, small production houses.

Loire Valley: Didier Dagueneau was the “Wild Man of the Loire", who took hectares of undesirable baked earth and turned them into vineyard gold. Many claim that he was the best producer of Sauvignon Blanc in the world. Sadly, on September 18, 2008, he was killed in a microlight flying accident in the Dordogne. His limited production will be continued by his two adult children, who have long been active in the making of his Sauvignon Blanc wines.

Rhône Valley: Château Rayas and Domaines Beaucastel and Clusel-Roch are all highly collectible, limited production wines, that gain high marks from critics.
